Introduction to Sustainable Development Goals

28 Apr 2021 - 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm (GST)

This session provides an introductory seminar into the Sustainable Development Goals. To ensure that we commit to developing sustainably, the United Nations came up with the Sustainable Development Goals.

The SDGs are a set of 17 goals and 169 targets that all the countries in the world have agreed to work on. They are designed to help people who are struggling to improve their lives; create opportunities so that we will all prosper together; ensure that we protect our planet and other living creatures; promote peace between peoples; and promote partnership and cooperation between counties and people across the world.

The SDGs also provide an education framework for students to learn more about important issues and challenges, both at a global and local level. Through this framework, students will learn and understand how interconnected their community is with the rest of the world and the importance of global efforts to ensure our long-term viability.
