Connect with others from around the world

University of Toronto, New College offers students (15 – 18 years) a variety of Pre-University Programs during the summer months of July and August. These innovative and forward-thinking programs provide the opportunity for students to immerse themselves at Canada’s premier university and gain valuable skills and experiences. Students have the choice of attending our Global Citizenship Program (GCP) or our Advanced Academic Program (AAP).

University of Toronto – Global Citizenship Program

Over the course of three weeks, students (ages 15 – 18) in the Global Citizenship Program (GCP) will explore different elements of global citizenship and discover their place in an interconnected world. Through a variety of teaching methods, lectures, and hands-on activities, students will develop leadership and communication skills that build a global perspective.

​ With a greater understanding of global citizenship and the tools to act, the program will empower students to engage within their own communities and contribute to the building of a more global society.


University of Toronto – The Advanced Academic Program

The Advanced Academic Program (AAP) provides an opportunity for students to challenge themselves in an academic university setting during the summer months. Designed for high school students with a strong command of English, the Advanced Academic Program engages and challenges students through individual and group work in specific subject areas typical of a Canadian university.


Evaluation & Certificate

At the end of the program, all students receive a personalized evaluation and those who successfully complete the course are awarded a Certificate of Course Completion from University of Toronto, New College.

What are the English requirements to undertake these courses?

Yes, a minimum level of wrtiten and spoken english of Advanced+ IELTS 6.5 or CEFR Upper B2
